indispensable for writers and artists of any sort. I tried to ignore this book for years, but it kept
finding me. I return to it again
and again for inspiration.
Down the Bones and Wild Mind, both by Natalie Goldberg.
No books are better for getting ink on the page. Natalie is the ultimate writing coach. Also, Thunder and Lightning:
Cracking Open the Writerís Craft.
by Eric Maisel. This book helps to
exorcise those writing demons and get you working. Itís a wonderful book for all writers and artists.
I canít recommend it highly enough.
Art of Creative Writing and The Art of Dramatic Writing, by Lajos Egri.
a Bunny Eat Bunny World, by Olga Litowinsky. This
book has some good practical advice for aspiring childrenís authors.
Guide to Writing Childrenís Books. Lots
of good info here.
of Childhood: The Art and Craft of
Writing for Children, edited by William Zinsser.
to Promote Your Childrenís Book, by Evelyn Gallardo. This book tells you what to do after youíve been
published. Extremely useful.
