Author Visits

“You had such a great presentation that was perfect for our students. We always look forward to an author visit and this year was amazing!” —Cissi Kale, Principal, Due West Elementary, Marietta GA

“We all thoroughly enjoyed your presentations. I believe you have opened up our children’s minds to consider new ideas for writing. We already have some students who have written some very creative “monster” stories as a result of your time with us. We have also heard voices singing “I Love Reading!” The knowledge and inspiration we gained from your visit will stick with us for years to come.” —Buffalo Shuford, Media Specialist, J.H. House Elementary, Conyers, GA

“Your choice of music, photos, humor, artwork, and conversation was a winning combination for reaching our students. The teachers continue to sing your praises and we now have several budding authors and illustrators among our students.” —Sue Ann Prigge, Media Specialist, Rainbow Elem., Decatur GA.

Students will sing, laugh, draw, and use their imaginations as they peek behind the scenes into the creation of a book.

Danny has been visiting schools for over twenty years, sharing his joy of reading and writing.

“Our students have been thrilled with each of your visits. They are still talking about how much they learned about what it takes to be a successful author. We look forward to having you back.”

— PTA Reading and Literacy Committee, Sope Creek Elementary, Marietta, GA

“Many of my students have picked up on some of the techniques that you used. What you do does make a difference.”

— Shannon T., Teacher, Dutch Fork Elementary, Irmo, SC

“We had so much fun listening to and learning from you. My favorite part was when you told the kids to rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. My students can’t believe how much I have them rewrite! Thank you so much.”

— Ms. Mackie All, Teacher, Hall-Kent Elementary, Homewood, AL

“Your presentation was very engaging and inspiring. Our students are motivated now more than ever to create and develop their own stories.”

—L. Kelley, LaBelle Elementary, Marietta, GA
