Author Visits
Students will sing, laugh, draw, and use their imaginations as they peek behind the scenes into the creation of a book.
Danny has been visiting schools for over twenty years, sharing his joy of reading and writing.
“Our students have been thrilled with each of your visits. They are still talking about how much they learned about what it takes to be a successful author. We look forward to having you back.”
— PTA Reading and Literacy Committee, Sope Creek Elementary, Marietta, GA
“Many of my students have picked up on some of the techniques that you used. What you do does make a difference.”
— Shannon T., Teacher, Dutch Fork Elementary, Irmo, SC
“We had so much fun listening to and learning from you. My favorite part was when you told the kids to rewrite, rewrite, rewrite. My students can’t believe how much I have them rewrite! Thank you so much.”
— Ms. Mackie All, Teacher, Hall-Kent Elementary, Homewood, AL
“Your presentation was very engaging and inspiring. Our students are motivated now more than ever to create and develop their own stories.”
—L. Kelley, LaBelle Elementary, Marietta, GA
In-Person Visits
Presentations are 45 minutes long, and a day’s visit includes four presentations. Extra presentations can be added, up to a total of 6 per day.
Presentations are tailored to three age groups: Kindergarten, 1st-3rd grade, and 4th-5th grade.
If 3 or more nearby schools book on consecutive days, Danny’s honorarium drops by $100 per day and transportation costs are split between schools.
